POSITION OVERVIEW

SENIOR SOFTWARE PRODUCT MANAGER

Our growing team is seeking a Senior Software Product Manager. The right person for this job will bring a collaborative and hands-on approach as a technology leader who provides strategic vision and tactical support, maintaining and evolving our growing company. The Senior Product Manager will lead the analysis, documentation, and management of business requirements and ensure that the technical team fully understands what is needed to facilitate the design and implementation of competitive software solutions. 

 

In this role, you will define and develop new features of the application, work to enhance existing application features, and oversee the development of those features from inception to release. The Senior Software Project Manager works closely with Product Managers and with the development teams to provide support and to act as an informed customer advocate within the development team.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

The Senior Software Product Manager is responsible for defining detailed, actionable requirements at the feature story level from the high-level requirements provided by the Product Managers. You will lead the product roadmap initiatives through the software development cycle, including design, development, testing, documentation, release, and training.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Understanding complex business needs and translates them into detailed, executable functional requirementx`s
  • Coordinate and monitor technical projects from initiation through delivery
  • Evaluate a variety of business needs and analyze their impact on the application, helping teams to execute ideas quickly
  • Prioritize a backlog of work specific to the project so the development team can plan, estimate, and allocate resources appropriately
  • Collaborate with business owners, finance, and developers in the product design and software development process
  • Gather and prioritize product and customer requirements and work closely with development to oversee and approve product designs, enhancements, and quality
  • Work closely with end-users to analyze, define, model, and document systems requirements
  • Be available to the development team to address ongoing questions, concerns, feedback
  • Develop, maintain and manage relationships with stakeholders, keeping them informed of critical issues and engaged throughout project lifecycles
  • Writing detailed functional requirement documents, workflows, use cases, and training materials
  • Writing test cases and work with Quality Assurance in the areas of auditing and testing
  • Serve as liaisons between technical and non-technical departments to ensure that all targets and requirements are met
  • Act as subject matter expert for specific components of the application, and support the release of the particular product features

CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS

Qualified candidates should be positive, driven, and confident individuals that will represent the company and its customers professionally at all times. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
  • 8+ years of successful product owner experience, preferably in a SaaS environment 
  • Experience working in a combination of business analysis, product management, project management and/or software application development
  • Ability to resolve conflicting end-user requirements
  • A demonstrated track record of successfully delivering complex projects with demanding deadlines
  • Team player with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and goals
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong presentation and leadership skills
  • Superior project management skills and the ability to lead a team of people towards a shared vision
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and diagnostic skills
  • Detailed oriented and self-directed
  • Business and technical savvy

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

  • Must be authorized to work in their country of residence (The United States or Canada)
  • Must be willing to submit up to a LEVEL II background and/or security investigation with a fingerprint.  Job offers are contingent on background/security investigation results

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This job operates in a professional office environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be largely sedentary and will be required to sit/stand for long periods while using a computer and telephone headset. The employee will be regularly required to operate a computer and other office equipment, including a phone, copier, and printer. The employee may occasionally be required to move about the office to accomplish tasks; reach in any direction; raise or lower objects, move objects from place to place, hold onto objects, and move or exert force up to forty (40) pounds.
