We are seeking a Benefits Coordinatore who will be responsible for managing the administration and compliance of Canada Pension Plan (CPP) and Employment Insurance (EI) benefits for employees. Your role will involve ensuring accurate enrollment, deductions, and remittances related to CPP and EI contributions. You will serve as a resource for employees regarding CPP and EI benefits, providing guidance and support on eligibility, coverage, and claims processes.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer Canada Pension Plan (CPP) and Employment Insurance (EI) benefits for eligible employees, ensuring compliance with government regulations and company policies.
  • Coordinate the enrollment process for CPP and EI benefits, including new hires, terminations, and changes in employment status.
  • Calculate and deduct CPP and EI contributions from employee wages in accordance with statutory rates and income thresholds.
  • Ensure accurate remittance of CPP and EI contributions to relevant government agencies within prescribed deadlines.
  • Stay informed about updates and changes to CPP and EI regulations, guidelines, and reporting requirements.
  • Prepare and submit required reports, filings, and documentation related to CPP and EI benefits to government authorities.
  • Serve as a point of contact for employees regarding CPP and EI benefits, providing information, guidance, and assistance on eligibility criteria, coverage details, and claims processes.
  • Address employee inquiries and resolve issues related to CPP and EI benefits in a timely and professional manner.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of CPP and EI contributions, deductions, and payments.
  • Ensure compliance with recordkeeping requirements and facilitate access to documentation for audits and reviews.
  • Collaborate with HR, payroll, and benefits teams to ensure seamless integration of CPP and EI benefits with other employee benefits programs.
  • Participate in benefits-related projects, initiatives, and system enhancements as needed.
  • Conduct training sessions and workshops for employees on CPP and EI benefits, explaining eligibility criteria, contribution rates, and entitlements.
  • Communicate updates, changes, and important information related to CPP and EI benefits to employees through various channels.

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or related field preferred.
  • Proven experience in benefits administration, payroll processing, or related roles, with specific knowledge of Canada Pension Plan (CPP) and Employment Insurance (EI) regulations and processes.
  • Familiarity with relevant federal and provincial laws, regulations, and reporting requirements governing CPP and EI benefits.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to accurately calculate deductions and reconcile contributions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex information to employees at all levels.
  • Proficiency in payroll and HRIS systems, as well as Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive employee information with discretion.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This job operates in a professional office environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be largely sedentary and will be required to sit/stand for long periods while using a computer and telephone headset. The employee will be regularly required to operate a computer and other office equipment, including a phone, copier, and printer. The employee may occasionally be required to move about the office to accomplish tasks; reach in any direction; raise or lower objects, move objects from place to place, hold onto objects, and move or exert force up to forty (40) pounds.
